Photographer Bio

 

Jo Whaley is an internationally-acclaimed fine art photographer with advanced degrees in Art and Photography. With a painter's background, her work combines the art of painting with the language of photography.

Jo's work has been exhibited in countries all across the globe including the United States, Europe and Japan and she has been the honored recipient of many awards and grants, including a National Endowment Visual Artists Fellowship in 1994 and also a grant to work with the Polaroid 20x24 camera in New York.

Jo has published a book titled "The Theater of Insects" and has a second book coming out in 2009. She also loves to teach the art of photography and has been instructing students for more than 20 years at various universities.
