P#29: The Courtship Ritual of Dancing Cranes
Roy Toft had just seconds to capture this amazing shot of dancing cranes
Nature and wildlife wait for no man, and for Roy Toft to capture these dancing cranes in the perfect shot, he had to be ready to shoot at any moment.
Be Prepared
Roy Toft: In this next shot of dancing cranes, the frame is quite a bit tighter. The cranes had just landed from flying. I can't even get all of their wings in this picture.
As soon as the cranes land, they will go into this courtship bow and dance. This was a perfect moment to grab that. (click the image for a larger version)
This was done with the 600mm. I had that ready in case I wanted it tighter.
In Summary
Some photographs have to be taken in an instant. That's why Roy Toft had his 600mm ready. The tighter frame helped him capture this amazing photograph of the dancing cranes beginning their courtship bow and dance.
