P#15: A Happy Picture of a Dog In the Window
Jenni Bidner explains why the dog in the window in this photograph looks so happy
Jennifer Bidner tells us how she captured this amusing shot of a dog in the window, even though this particular pooch hates having her photograph taken.
Making Her Happy
Jenni Bidner: This picture of a dog in the window isn't a before and after, but it demonstrates Miss Meeka, who is also a search dog.
She is one of my favorite subjects, probably because we're always near her because we're always training. She is one of those dogs who hates to pose, and she looks miserable as soon as you stare at her with that lens. (click the image for a larger version)
When we threw Miss Meeka into the truck, she was a happy camper. We were able to get a cute picture that also captured her personality.
Going back to that personality, when I think of Meeka, I think of her in the car that she owns checking out the world. We were able to achieve both things at once just by throwing her into this car.
In Conclusion
To capture a dog's personality in a photograph, you sometimes have to put the dog in the situations that make them happiest. That's exactly what Jenni Bidner did in this picture of a dog in the window.
